HOW DOES THE WIND BLOW? TRAMONTANA NORTH (N)

Are you fond of kite surfing? This wind then you might like. The Tramontana is named, probably, from the Latin word referring to the fact that intra montes blows from the heart of the Alps that is by North. It ‘a cold and dry wind. Usually it brings good visibility and clear sky.
If you want to stay in sheltered areas to enjoy a relaxing day and also wonderful snorkeling excursions nature, you can reach the other side and choose your ideal beach.

Some beaches sheltered from the Tramontana:

Galenzana: you can be reached by a marked trail from the center of Marina di Campo in about 20 minutes. Type of beach: sand and gravel

Marina di Campo from Portoferraio follow the signs to Marina di Campo. The beach is located within the country. Type of beach: sand

Fonza: follow the signs to Marina di Campo, follow the road to the Elba Aquarium, it turns on a dirt road on the right marked by a sign.
Type of beach: sand and gravel

Felciaio: you are reached by a path after parking the car in a yard where you can stop. And ‘it situated about 1 km from Lido di Capoliveri between Northmen and the Lido.
